Day 28 — Restored and Free

The vision concludes with the river of life, the tree of life, and the restored fellowship between God and humanity.

Revelation 22:1 - 5

1He showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb,

2in the middle of its street. On this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruits, yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

3There will be no curse any more. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants serve him.

4They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.

5There will be no night, and they need no lamp light; for the Lord God will illuminate them. They will reign forever and ever.

David expresses confidence that God will not abandon him to the grave but will show him the path of life and joy in His presence.

Psalms 16:8 - 11

8I have set Yahweh always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

9Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.

10For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption.

11You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. A Prayer by David.
